Hold the tooth by the crown (not the root). Place it in milk or saliva. Get to us within 30 minutes for the best chance of saving it.
Rinse with warm salt water. Use dental floss to remove any trapped food. Take over-the-counter pain relievers—never place aspirin directly on the gum.
Rinse your mouth with warm water. Save any tooth fragments. Apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Cover sharp edges with dental wax or sugarless gum.
Apply firm pressure with clean gauze for 10-15 minutes. Use a cold compress. If bleeding doesn't stop after 20 minutes, go to the emergency room.
